Build a CV when you have little work experience

Present education, projects and practical skills clearly when applying for your first job.

Use a simple structure

Start with contact details and a short target summary, then include education, relevant skills, projects, volunteering and any work experience. Put the strongest evidence near the top.

Include useful experience

Part-time work, internships, community activities and personal projects can show reliability and practical skills. Describe your role and contribution clearly, and label unpaid or academic work accurately.

Give projects enough detail

For each relevant project, explain the goal, tools or methods you used, your specific contribution and what you completed. Link to a portfolio only if it is current and safe to share.

Keep claims verifiable

List language and technical skills at a level you can demonstrate. Ask a trusted person to check spelling and layout, then tailor the CV to each role without changing the facts.
